Spring Dance Registration Begins!

Sunny's Creative Dance and Song is still accepting enrollment for the Spring 2009 Semester of Dance.

Come and twirl and sing and dance to your favorite songs in Ms. Sunny's dance classes. Sunny's Creative Dance is all about teaching girls how to dance, sing, be creative and build confidence at the same time.

Classes for the Spring Semester begin on January 6, 2009.

All classes will be instructed by Ms. Sunny, Miss Rachael, Miss Noel, Miss Annie, and Miss Libby. Ms. Sunny has been teaching dance now for 26 years and 21 of those years she has taught here in Mesa, AZ. She has 4 assistant teachers who are training to be dance instructors or who are now instructors and want to continue to teach along side Ms. Sunny at her studio. These assistant dance instructors have many years of experience, and continue to study under Ms. Sunny in her Elite Advanced dance class.

Miss Rachael is currently a dance instructor of a branch of Sunny's Creative dance at Val Vista Lakes and has 19 years of creative dance experience. She is also a ballroom dance instructor and dancer who competes. She has also taken other forms of dance including African dance. Miss Rachael has been an assistant dance instructor for Ms. Sunny for 9 years and is currently assisting her in the Advanced I on Tuesday at 5:30 PM and Thursday 3:45 Kindergarten classes.

Miss Libby has 15 years dance experience in creative dance with Ms. Sunny and has also studied modern contemporary dance. Miss Libby has been an assistant dance instructor for Ms. Sunny for 3 years and is currently assisting her in the Thursday 5:00 Intermediate II class.

Miss Noel has 15 years dance experience in creative dance with Ms. Sunny and is also a piano teacher. Miss Noel has been an assistant dance instructor for Ms. Sunny for 3 years and is currently assisting her in the Tuesday 4:00 Senior class.

Dance through creative movement is all about having fun, building confidence and gaining an appreciation for all types of dance.

Spring Class Times and Age Groups:

Tuesday:

9:30 - 10:30 AM Preschool

4:00 - 5:15 PM 5th & 6th graders

5:15 - 6:30 PM 7th on up
(depending on ability)

Wednesday:

1:00 - 2:00 PM Preschool

3:45 - 4:45 PM for 1st Graders

5:00 - 6:00 PM for 2nd & 3rd Graders

Thursday:

3:45 - 4:45 PM for All Day Kindergarten

5:00 - 6:00 PM for 3rd & 4th Graders

Class sizes will be limited to 16 students.

Sunny's Creative Dance follows the Mesa School district calendar.

Fees:
$40 a month (5 months to a semester)
Plus
$20 Registration/costume maintenance fee per semester.

All costumes will be provided for performances and will remain with dance studio after performances. There will be NO additional charges for recitals, solo performances, pictures, etc.

A recital to a dance student is a wonderful goal and is one of the most exciting and fulfilling aspects of taking dance lessons. It gives the students a chance to share all of their hard work with parents, friends and family. Each child feels an amazing sense of accomplishment at the end of the semester when they get to share what they have learned. Being able to perform several numbers and getting to wear many costumes provide an opportunity for the children to dress up and to cultivate their imagination.

We have two recital performances each year consisting of somewhere between 12-16 numbers. Multiple costumes will be provided for recitals. All recitals will take place in the dance studio to keep costs down. Recitals will only consist of the dancers own class and will not be combined with other classes.
